HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

POLICY

Purpose

To outline the Company’s commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Policy. Everyone working for the company is expected to share this commitment by taking care of themselves, looking out for others and minimizing its environmental impact through sustainable practices.

This policy is alignment with the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) , as well as compliance with:

  1. Malaysian environmental laws such as the Environmental Quality Act 1974, Pesticides Act 1974
  2. Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, Employment (Amendment) Act 2022, Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022, Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, and Employee’s Social Security Act 1969.

 

Scope

Applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders involved in our operations, regardless of location, to ensure that health, safety and environmental management principles are integrated into all aspects of our business and operation processes.

 

Exception

No exceptions are permitted under this policy, as health, safety and environmental compliance are integral to our operations. Any deviations must be formally approved by senior management and documented for audit purposes.

 

Policy Rationale

We commit to:

  • Protect employees:
    Identify and reduce the risk of accidents and ensure worker safety.
  • Comply with regulations:
    Ensure compliance with local and international legal and regulatory requirements and strengthen our dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals and sustainable development.
  • Improve business performance:
    Enhance productivity, employee morale, and business efficiency.
  • Demonstrate commitment:
    Show management commitment to Health and Safety issues and corporate responsibility.

 

Implementation

  • Protecting the environment by:
    We develop and implement strategies to reduce identified environmental impacts. This involved employees in environmental protection efforts through training, awareness programs, and incentives for sustainable practices, thereby fostering an environmentally responsible culture.
  • Protect the health and safety of our company by:
    To maintain a safe workplace, conduct regular hazard assessments and inspections, implement risk controls, provide ongoing safety training, and ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Develop Emergency Response Plans:
    Health, Safety and environmental emergencies response plans are developed to minimize damages, such as spills or accidental emissions.
  • Audit and review:
    Schedule inspections and audits to evaluate compliance with company’s mission, vision and HSE policies. Use the findings from these audits to implement corrective actions and continuously improve safety measures.
  • Document and record keeping:
    Ensure traceability, accountability, and compliance with Malaysia and international standard by maintaining comprehensive documentation and records of all related activities.

 

Review

Review will be conduct annually to assess its effectiveness, relevance, and alignment with evolving legal requirements, industry best practices, and emerging risks of environmental standards and practices. Feedback from stakeholders, incident reports, changes in regulations, and emerging trends will inform revisions as necessary.

All employees, officers, directors, contractors, customers and stakeholders are required to read, understand, and comply with the provisions outlined in this policy.
