On August 18, 2023, TKR Engineering Sdn Bhd achieved a successful milestone by seamlessly installing a custom-designed boatlanding onto the TEGAS MAKMUR (Kuching) Vessel at the Misarma’s Wharf.
TEGAS MAKMUR is a utility vessel chartered by our esteemed client, TotalEnergies Brunei, for their upcoming project and operation. The vessel was originally built in 2008, marking its 15th year of service, and is currently sailing under the flag of Malaysia. In order to comply with the required safety and operational standards set by the end user, TEGAS MAKMUR underwent a thorough inspection to ensure its safety and seaworthiness. As a result, the vessel needed some adjustments, including the installation of a custom boatlanding.
In order to align the vessel with the precise requirements of TotalEnergies Brunei, TKR Engineering Sdn Bhd harnessed its professional and experienced manpower to craft a custom boatlanding solution. This tailor-made installation serves a vital role, facilitating the seamless transfer of personnel and cargo between the vessel and shore, while also offering a designated platform for necessary inspections by law enforcement or other authorities. Given the boatlanding’s constant exposure to the harsh marine environment, the choice of materials was of high importance. Stainless steel emerged as the ideal choice, possessing the durability and resilience necessary to withstand the ocean’s most challenging conditions over the long term.
